Here we go! It's that time of year again, and it damn sure took long enough. College football is back! And, as we await kickoff, take a minute to get in The Huddle – the official Facebook group for CFU. That way you'll never miss anything the analysts of CFU have to say. Now, unless you've watched the bowl games available on iTunes over and over again like I have, last season seems so long ago. But, if you’re watching 25 Hours of College Football on ESPN tonight, you’ll quickly be reminded of how Chris Leak and the Gators absolutely spanked Ohio State, taking home the National Championship. And how the LSU Tigers exploited Notre Dame in their backyard at the Sugar Bowl. You’ll be reminded of how Rutgers football was reborn and how UCLA stunned the mighty Trojans, crushing their championship hopes. You’ll be reminded of how Wake Forest took the ACC, how the refs practically handed Oregon a win over Oklahoma, and how in the middle of a game Joe – Paterno, that is – trotted off the field to the John.

But probably most memorable is the gutsy and absolutely ingenious – only because it actually worked, of course –play-call by the Boise State Broncos' coaching staff. That Statue of Liberty play clinched a two-point conversion and an overtime victory for the Broncos in the Fiesta Bowl, fooling the Sooners. With that, the Broncos finished the season undefeated, and now the nation not only knows that Chris Petersen and Boise State can play with the big boys, but also that they play to win.

There's only one thing certain about this season; it'll be even crazier than the last. Now, the polls say it's USC's championship to lose, and something tells me that they'll do just that. We'll have to wait and see, but in addition to that this season has a lot to reveal.

For instance, just who will be Notre Dame's quarterback against their opener against Georgia Tech? Will Nick Saban revitalize Alabama? Can the newly fashioned Gators defense stand up to the competition? Was Jeff Bowden actually the cause of Florida State's offensive woes? Is this the year of the Mountaineer? Or the LSU Tigers? Can the Hurricanes thrive and return to powerhouse status with Randy Shannon calling the shots? Will Michigan's defense actually play all year long? And just who will bust the BCS this year? Boise State, again? Or maybe Hawaii?

Only time will tell, and the pages of this twelve week long thriller start turning this week, with kickoff set for Thursday.
