Games To Watch: Week No. 1

LSU v. MISSISSIPPI STATE
The only reason anyone should watch this game is to see just how good LSU will be this season.
PICK: LSU

GEORGIA TECH v. NOTRE DAME
Now that Quinn and Samardzija are gone, it seems like Charlie Weiss doesn’t quite know what to do. If he’s made a decision at QB, he’s keeping it to himself. It’ll be interesting to see how Weiss and ND adjust without their luckiest of charms. But GT is missing an extremely deadly weapon – to put it mildly. Who has the foot to fill Calvin Johnson’s shoes? We’re about to find out.
PICK: GEORGIA TECH

WAKE FOREST v. BOSTON COLLEGE
Last season’s ACC champ is touted to be a disappointment this season. Meanwhile, Boston College is touted to be a contender for the ACC this season. This one will be telling.
PICK: BOSTON COLLEGE

TENNESSEE v. CAL
The game of the week. I don’t know how much of a deal Erick Ainge’s jammed pinky will be, but Cal’s Nate Longshore won’t have many problems. Longshore has a few targets to choose from, particularly DeSean Jackson. I’ll go ahead and tell you now; Cal is a sleeper, and they’re going to start this season on a high note and with the sweet taste of revenge.
PICK: CAL

FSU v. CLEMSON
Tommy Bowden and his Clemson Tigers outsmarted his dad and the Florida State Seminoles in their last couple of meetings, but dad’s made a few changes since then. And if Bobby Bowden wants to show the nation that his Seminoles are back in the National Championship picture, he’s got to start by whooping his son. Tommy had better start running to his mamma.
PICK: FLORIDA STATE
