GOING, GOING, GEAUXN!: Tigers Too Much For Hokies

Sky divers fell from above the stadium. An orange and maroon banner streamed across the sky. 92,000 normally rabid LSU fans stood in respectful silence as their marching band played the Virginia Tech alma mater in remembrance of the tragic events at Virginia Tech.

The hospitality ended there.

Just three hours later the Hokies limped off the field while Tigers' fans roared after handing VT one of it's most lopsided losses in history.

One week after looking slightly sluggish in the first half against Mississippi State the Bayou Bengals roared back, a roar that was heard throughout the nation.

LSU looked every bit as good as their No. 2 ranking indicates, thrashing Frank Beamer's boys 48-7 and leaving no doubt that they are a National Title contender. Their defense suffocated the Hokies with Speedo-tight coverage in the secondary and a run-stuffing D-line that pressured young QB Sean Glennon right out of the game.

Rallying behind a balanced attack with just the right amount of big time plays and clock-killing drives, the Tigers found their groove from the opening kickoff and outgained the Hokies 598-149. That's more distance than a Tiger Woods drive.

Looks like the Tigers played their own version of "Beamer Ball."

While Les Miles' squad could be distracted with the rumors that their coach may be interested in a coaching vacancy at Michigan, his alma mater, the only thing Matt Flynn and Keiland Williams seem to have their sights set on is a National Championship.
